problem with the Wolf River (Wisconsin)

[edit]

As I mentioned on Talk:Wolf River (Wisconsin), there is at least one other Wolf River in Wisconsin, a tributary of the North Fork Eau Claire River (that is, the Chippewa River tributary Eau Claire River). I'd fix this up, but I'm not sure what to do exactly... Should Wolf River (Wisconsin) be moved to Wolf River (Fox River (Wisconsin)) and the other article be named [eventually] Wolf River (Eau Claire River (Chippewa River)) or what?! • Well, the article titles should be kept as simple as possible. (Imagine typing "Wolf River (Eau Claire River (Chippewa River))" into another article and managing to get it right.) I think moving Wolf River (Wisconsin) to Wolf River (Fox River) would suffice, with the new "Wolf River (Wisconsin)" becoming a disambig page for it and Wolf River (Eau Claire River). Alternately if there are only two such rivers in WI, perhaps "Wolf River (Wisconsin)" could stay where it is, with a note at the top linking to "Wolf River (Eau Claire River)" (akin to the note about the other Mississippi River on the Mississippi River page) -- this would be fine if the Fox River tributary is the more substantial of the two.Malepheasant 00:16, 18 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal: Potentially having County level lists of rivers and streams

[edit]

My idea is to have County Level lists of rivers and streams, which allows for adequate description and imagery for each. I do not believe that every little river and stream deserves its own article (however the big ones such as Baraboo River and Wisconsin River definitely do!). If you have any concerns with this idea, please state them here or on my talk page. Thanks. JackFromReedsburg (talk) 00:54, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
